Client Guidelines

Thank you for choosing Clean by Design for your cleaning needs! We take great pride in being welcomed into your space and caring for your home or office with respect. Please review the following guidelines—your acceptance and a valid card on file are required to hold your scheduled service.
CLIENT'S EXPERIENCE
  • We provide trained, insured, and highly vetted professional technicians.
  • Technicians complete the approved scope of work and may not alter work orders without office approval.
  • We do not clean biohazards, pest infestations, pet waste, or other potentially infectious materials. 
ACCESS / LOCKOUT POLICY
  • Please provide entry details (code, key, or lockbox) before your appointment.
  • If we cannot access the property, a 100% lockout fee will be charged.
  • We’ll contact you for an alternate entry; if none is available, the lockout fee applies.
  • Driveways and entryways must be clear of snow and ice for safety during the winter months; otherwise, service could be disrupted.
DAMAGE OR BREAKAGE
  • Accidents are rare but possible. Move fragile or valuable items before service or notify us to avoid them.
  • Report any damage immediately and provide photos. Items must be saved for inspection. 
PAYMENTS
  • A current card on file is required for all residential clients. Payment processes automatically after service.
  • One-time cleans require a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve the appointment.
  • We accept checks at service (or mailed in advance). Cash is not accepted.
  • Commercial accounts may be billed monthly. Interest (7%) may apply to overdue invoices.
  • Late or unpaid balances may incur fees and suspension or termination of services. 
CANCELLATIONS / SKIPS / HOLIDAYS
    • 72 business hours’ notice required for cancellations or skips.
    • Canceling within 48 hours may result in a fee; same-day cancellations are charged the full amount.
    • Skipped recurring cleans may result in a $20/week skip fee.
    • Closed on major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas.

SCHEDULING

  • Please allow a 30-minute arrival window before or after your scheduled time.
  • Recurring clients are booked on consistent days each cycle. 
SATISFACTION GUARANTEE
  • We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Notify us within 24 business hours if you’re unhappy, and we’ll return to make it right.
  • Services are not discounted or refunded.
PRODUCTS
  • We provide all cleaning products and equipment.
  • If you request use of your own products/equipment, we are not responsible for resulting damage.
DISTRACTIONS & SAFETY
  • Technicians work best in a clear, distraction-free environment.
  • Please keep pets, children, and contractors clear of cleaning areas.
  • We reserve the right to adjust time or scope if distractions delay cleaning.

MAKE-READY / VACANT PROPERTIES

  • Utilities must be on for safety. Properties must be fully vacant.
  • We communicate only with the paying client. Ownership overlaps may result in cancellation and deposit retention.

PHOTO POLICY

  • Technicians may take non-personal before/after or incident photos for job records. Files are stored securely.
RATES
  • Rates may increase with notice; a 2–3% annual adjustment is typical due to rising supply and labor costs.
REFERRALS
  • Receive $100 off when you refer a new weekly or bi-weekly client.
REVIEWS
  • Love your service? Please leave a 5-star Google review!
  • Not satisfied? Contact our office so we can make things right.
TIPPING
  • You can reply to our “cleaning finished” text with your tip amount if you’d like.
  • Technicians accept cash tips (no checks or digital transfers).
  • Tips are appreciated but never required!
NON-SOLICITATION
  • Clients agree not to hire or solicit Clean by Design employees for 1 year after services end, unless with written consent and a $2,500 referral fee.
AGREEMENT
  • I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms of service with Clean by Design MI, LLC.
